Technology
Soundsafe Care transforms the conventional methods to perform surgery by combining ultrasound and robotics technologies.
Ultrasound
Ultrasound is a high frequency mechanical wave that propagates through an elastic medium. Soundsafe Care uses ultrasound for therapeutic purposes. Indeed, a beam of high intensity ultrasound can be focused on a target deep in the human body with the final goal of generating a millimetric therapeutic effect.
This effect turns into localized tissue destruction, that can be later physiologically reabsorbed. This use of ultrasound for therapeutic purposes therefore enables outpatient treatment that does not require any incision. Moreover, ultrasound is intrinsically safe for the organism, thus avoiding the use of any ionizing radiation.
Also, Soundsafe Care takes advantage of ultrasound to guide the therapy. Indeed, ultrasound can be used in their standard diagnostic declination to create real-time images of soft tissues inside the body. This imaging allows the physician to visualize the target where to focus the therapeutic beam.
Robotics
Precision is extremely challenging: the required accuracy is high, multiple sonications could be needed, and the target could be moving due to the patient’s respiration.
For this reason, Soundsafe Care has integrated a robot-assisted device and has developed proprietary software that automates the procedure to make it precise, repeatable, and intuitive for the physician.
Computer vision and robotics allows to track and compensate for any possible motion of the therapy target, ensuring safety across operating conditions and anatomical areas.
Also, therapy planning and automation speeds up the therapy, thus reducing the risks for complications and making the surgery more efficient and cost effective.
Benefits of Our Technology
FOR PATIENTS
Ultrasound therapy does not require any type of invasiveness since it is delivered from the outside of the body, as an outpatient treatment.
FOR PHYSICIANS
It is possible to repeat the treatment session multiple times, as well as in combination with additional therapeutic solutions.
